Open Graph Generator

Create Open Graph and Twitter Card meta tags with a live preview

The Open Graph Generator builds the meta tags that control how your page looks when it is shared on Facebook, LinkedIn, X (Twitter), WhatsApp and other social platforms. Enter a title, description, URL and image, and get ready-to-paste Open Graph and Twitter Card tags.

A live preview shows the share card as you type, so you can fix a cut-off title or a missing image before anyone shares your link.

Helpful Tips

Get better results with these suggestions

Use a 1200×630 image

Images around 1200×630 pixels (1.91:1) display sharply on most platforms. Use an absolute https:// URL.

Keep titles short

Aim for about 60 characters in the title and 110–160 in the description so they are not truncated.

Use the canonical URL

Set og:url to the page's canonical address so likes and shares are counted on one URL.

Refresh cached previews

Platforms cache previews. After changing tags, re-scrape the URL with the platform's sharing debugger.

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to common questions

What are Open Graph tags?

Open Graph tags are meta tags in a page's <head> that tell social platforms which title, description, image and URL to show when the page is shared. The protocol was created by Facebook and is now used by most social networks and messaging apps.

What is the difference between Open Graph and Twitter Cards?

Twitter Cards are X's own meta tags for link previews. X can fall back to Open Graph tags, but adding both gives you full control over how the link appears everywhere. This tool generates both sets together.

Where do I put the generated tags?

Paste them inside the <head> section of the page you want to share. In most CMSs you can add them through an SEO plugin or a custom header code field.

Why is my old image still showing after I updated the tags?

Social platforms cache link previews. Use the platform's sharing or post inspector tool to fetch the page again, and the new tags will be picked up.

Is the Open Graph Generator free?

Yes. The tool is completely free and does not require an account.
