Lorem ipsum is placeholder text used in design, publishing and web development to fill a layout before the final copy is ready. It's based on Latin from Cicero, scrambled so it reads as nonsense. It became popular in the 1960s, when Letraset dry-transfer sheets used it, and later spread through desktop publishing software.

What is the lorem ipsum meaning in English?

It has no real meaning, because the words were cut up and shuffled. "Lorem" isn't even a Latin word; it's the end of "dolorem" (pain). The source line, "qui dolorem ipsum quia dolor sit amet", roughly means that no one loves pain for its own sake, simply because it is pain.

Can you translate lorem ipsum?

Only loosely. Online translators return odd sentences because lorem ipsum is scrambled Latin, not real sentences.
